ABSTRACT
The aim of the article is to analyse the social participation of youth in Warsaw in
shaping the city’s development directions. The article is based on a review of the literature
and in-depth, semi-structured interviews conducted with a purposefully selected group of
experts. The analysis reveals that the city has established formal structures to support youth
social participation; however, doubts remain regarding their actual effectiveness and the
scope of agency of city youth councils. The study also examines youth participation in urban
movements, indicating that young people are present only in those urban movements that
specifically target them, for instance, through activities on social media.

Czasopismo naukowe «Studia Politologiczne» uzyskało dofinansowanie z Ministerstwa Edukacji i Nauki w ramach programu „Rozwój Czasopism Naukowych” (projekt numer RCN/SN/0713/2021/1). Wysokość otrzymanego dofinansowania wynosi 79 607 zł. Celem projektu jest realizacja działań zmierzających do podniesienia poziomu praktyk wydawniczych i edytorskich, zwiększenia wpływu Czasopisma na rozwój nauki oraz dalszego zwiększania prestiżu Czasopisma w międzynarodowym obiegu naukowym. Okres realizacji projektu wynosi 24 miesiące.
