The article deals with the process of transformation of civil society in the Republic of
Poland in the period of transition from the regime of “people’s democracy” to the multiparty
parliamentary system. Another point – it is influence and the relationship between
the process of institution-making of the Polish civil society and reform of an effective
system of local self-government.
