President Donald Trump is sometimes referred to as the New Prince in relation
to Niccolò Machiavelli’s famous work „The Prince”. Certain traits and actions of Donald
Trump, as well as his personality, seem to confirm the validity of such a formulation.
However, it is based on the popular but distorted image of Machiavellianism, which
assumes cunning and cynical conduct in politics. With a fair approach to the political
thought of the Florentine, one can say that the vast majority of his thoughts, advice or
tips for rulers are on polar opposites to the views and actions of Donald Trump.
