ABSTRACT
The aim of this article is to show how the incumbent Catholicos, Karekin II, successfully enhances the scope of official influence by political and public spheres. Analysis of his public speeches within the last 12 years will help the author to show how Catholicos rebuild the position of Armenian Church as an institution supporting political power and being authorised to participate in decision making on strategic topics as Nagorno Karabakh conflict and economic development while not decreasing its role as a guard of truth and morality.
