ABSTRACT
In recent years the Polish political sciences have witnessed a characteristic turn from politics to the political. It means, among other things, that using the instruments characteristic of political sciences, political scientists began to see the political meaning of different phenomena – also outside such dimensions of traditionally understood politics as power, state organs, or activity of political parties. In this approach, the process of politicization of non-political phenomena and the structure of social interests prove to be significant, especially the roles of domination and subordination making the basis of those phenomena as well as the political consequences of activities in the seemingly non-political spheres. This attitude made it possible for the Polish political scientists – regardless of the differences in their approaches and research perspectives – to get interested in the problems that had been earlier studied by representatives of other scientific disciplines. In this way not only the way of viewing such issues but also political sciences themselves were enriched. All the regularities described above can be without any doubt referred to the political and politicization of man’s creative activity realized within art – both traditional (e.g. theatre, literature, sculpture, architecture, painting), popular (film, music, cabaret and comics but the popular kinds of traditional arts as well), or avant-garde art (e.g. installations, video art, bio-art, etc.).
